Banana Overnight Oats

Looking for an easy and healthy recipe for overnight oat? This simple recipe on needs one bowl and five ingredients. Best of all it has zero refined sugar! All of the sweetness comes from the banana!

This is my go to overnight oats recipe.

It is very easy and incredibly budget-friendly.  Not to mention a great way to use bananas that are getting too ripe.

Best of all is that it’s also extremely healthy.

What Are Overnight Oats?

Overnight oats are oats that a made by letting them slowly absorb liquid until they are soft enough to eat. The great thing about them is they don’t require any cooking and they can be made in advance so they make a great breakfast for busy mornings.

How To Make Banana Overnight Oats

This recipe is incredibly easy!

Simply mash a ripe banana in a bowl. Then add the oats, almond milk, and chia seeds. Stir everything together and place in the refrigerator overnight.

That’s it!

At first the mixture will be pretty runny, but by morning the oats will have soaked up all of the almond milk.

This is also a very versatile recipe.

Opptional Toppings:

  • cinnamon
  • vanilla
  • chopped fruit
  • shredded coconut
  • chopped nuts

The variations are pretty much limitless.

Can I Make Banana Overnight Oats Ahead Of Time?

Yes! As long as you keep it stored in the refrigerator, you can make these overnight oats up to three days ahead of time.

Do I Need To Add Chia Seeds?

No, this recipe will turn out totally fine without them, but they add a nice boost of protein and healthy fats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

Instructions

  1. In a medium sized bowl, mash the banana with a fork.
  2. Add the other ingredients and mix together.
  3. Refrigerate overnight.
