Brussels sprouts are the best part fall!

Okay, maybe not THE BEST but definitely one of the best parts.Balsamic-Glazed Brussels Sprouts

These little cruciferous vegetables are always part of my holiday meals in one form or another. Usually, I just roast them and sprinkle them with salt and pepper, but sometimes I like to dress them up a little. You know, when I’m pretending to be fancy.

A balsamic glaze sounds fancy, but trust me, it’s super easy.

Description

Balsamic glazed brussels sprouts are an easy side for your holiday dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb fresh brussels sprouts

6 Tbsp olive oil divided

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

3 shallots chopped

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

Instructions

Preheat over to 425 degrees Fahrenheit

Toss brussels sprouts with 3 Tbsp olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread on a baking sheet and bake for 25 to 30 mins or until tender.

While the brussels sprouts are cooking heat the remaining oil in a wide sauteeing pan over medium heat.

Add the shallots and stir occasionally. Depending on the temperature of your stove, you may need to turn down the heat if they begin to burn. After about 10 mins add a pinch of salt. Continue to cook until the onions are a rich brown color (about 30 mins).

Add the vinegar to the pan and cook until reduced by about half. Pour over the brussels sprouts and mix together.
